Pharmacology
The client was admitted for observation after reporting increasing fatigue, dyspnea, malaise, and a fever of 102oF (38.8oC). The client is currently being treated with doxorubicin for uterine sarcoma. The initial diagnostic testing revealed pneumonia and neutropenia.
- Admit for observation
- Regular diet
- Acetaminophen 500 mg PO q 4 hours PRN fever/pain
- Start peripheral vascular access
- 100 mL/hr of normal saline
- Continue all home medications
